What is it really like to be a Member of Parliament? Tessa Munt will provide an insight into the working life of a constituency MP, explaining the wide range of issues brought to an MP's office and how time is divided between serving constituents and working in Westminster. She will describe the day-to-day realities of the role, the responsibilities of representing a constituency, and how Parliament operates in practice.
The talk will also explain parliamentary terms and procedures such as Westminster Hall debates, All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) and Early Day Motions (EDMs).
The presentation focuses on the practical work of an MP, not party politics.
